Facial wrinkles and fine lines can be difficult to deal with, but BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® can help! These simple, injectable treatments can temporarily soften wrinkles and fine lines near the brows, eyes, mouth, and forehead without the need for extended discomfort or downtime.
What are Neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are some of the most widely used injectable treatments available today. These products are used to address one of the most common causes of wrinkles and fine lines — muscle contractions. Over the course of a person’s lifetime, they make countless facial expressions when they speak, eat, laugh, smile, or frown. These facial expressions cause muscle contractions, which in turn causes the skin above the muscles to move. Over time, these movements lead to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines, especially in areas like the brows, forehead, mouth, and eyes.

Both BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®, the two neuromodulators offered at Innovative Aesthetics M.D., are formulated using a substance called botulinum toxin. Once this substance is injected into the muscles during a neuromodulator treatment session, the muscles are temporarily relaxed. This allows the skin above them to smooth and soften. Because the relaxation that botulinum toxin provides wrinkles is only temporary, patients must undergo repeated injections to maintain their results.
BOTOX® COSMETIC

Tone and Tighten Your Face with a Non-Surgical Eyebrow Lift
If friends are always asking you if you’re tired when you’re feeling fine, it may be due to sagging eyebrows or droopy eyelids. There’s a simple, non-invasive way to correct these facial features. Innovative Aesthetics MD in Winston-Salem offers eyebrow lifts using Botox and PDO threads. Whether your droopy brows are to aging or genetics, these nonsurgical aesthetic treatments are safe and effective for giving the muscles above your brows – and the upper half of your face – a lift without surgery.

What is an Eyebrow Lift?
For many years, a surgical procedure called a forehead lift or brow lift had been the only way for many patients to smooth out wrinkles and lift droopy eyebrows. Now there’s a non-invasive option for correcting droopy eyebrows.
A brow lift treatment works well on all skin types. The treatment lifts skin around and above the eyebrows, moving the natural arch slightly higher. The muscles above the brows are temporarily frozen in place.
The eyebrows remain in a lifted position until the solution wears out, in anywhere from six to eight months. Maintenance treatments are required to keep the muscles above the eyebrows “frozen” for a lifted appearance.

Outpatient Treatments for Eyebrow Lifts
A non-surgical eyebrow lift can create a raised horizontal brow, a raised arched brow or the tail of the brow can be raised. You’ll need to discuss your goals with our medical professional during consultation.
In small doses, botulinum are also used to weaken the contractions of the muscles on and around the forehead to smooth existing lines and prevent new lines from forming. This helps to give your face and brows a cleaner, more youthful look.
Some patients may benefit from combining a brow lift treatment before or after a chemical peel, laser resurfacing treatment, IPL photofacial treatment, or a PDO threadlift.

Are You a Good Candidate for an Eyebrow Lift?
You may be a good candidate if you have droopy eyelids or low-hanging brows. Sagging eyebrows may give you a tired or grumpy appearance. The procedure is recommend for individuals with mild brow drooping, or patients who want more balanced facial features.
You may also want to consider an eyebrow lift if you have horizontal lines across your forehead, furrows or frown lines between your brows, or excess skin hanging over your eyes.
A brow lift shapes the eyebrows and “opens up” the face to give you a younger appearance.

What Happens During a Non-Invasive Eyebrow Lift?
The treatment is conducted by Dr. Lindsay to ensure proper placement of the eyebrow. When the procedure is conducted by an inexperienced provider or by someone only doing these treatments as a botox side gig, the patient may find his or her brows uneven, or have a perpetually surprised look.

The treatment is virtually painless. Overall, treatment only takes between 10 and 15 minutes.
You’ll notice an improvement in two to three days, with most patients seeing full results in seven to 10 days. The muscles above the eye area, now weakened by the injectable solution, smooth away grooves and frown lines. The relaxed muscles at the top of the eyebrows give the forehead and eyebrow area a more youthful, toned appearance.

After-treatment Care
Try not to lay down for 4 hours after the procedure.
For 24 hours after treatment:
-
Avoid intense exercise or any strenuous activity.
-
Don’t touch or rub the injection area.
-
Avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol.
-
Don’t get a chemical peel, facial or microdermabrasion.

Follow-Up Treatments
When you visit the office on your follow-up appointment about two weeks after treatment, we will assess the results. If you need touch-ups, they can be performed at this time.
When you visit our offices for maintenance treatment, you’ll notice that you’ll see results faster with each succeeding visit. It’s important to schedule maintenance appointments as soon as you notice a change in your brows’ appearance. Your brows will start drooping again if you discontinue maintenance treatments.
