A collaborating physician is a doctor who works with nurse practitioners (NPs) to oversee patient care. This partnership can help NPs provide high-quality care and stay compliant with regulations. Dr. Lindsay has extensive experience in collaborating with aesthetic NPs, med spas, and medical aestheticians (estheticians) and is passionate about helping you achieve your goals in a big way.

• In Alabama, NPs can now own and operate a med spa but need a collaborating physician to practice independently. 

• NPs can also benefit from the guidance and mentorship of the right collaborating physician. 

• Many healthcare facilities require a collaborative physician to comply with regulations and this is not unique to aesthetics.

• The collaborating physician should support your practice and provide added value through a fund of knowledge, related clinical experience, and a genuine interest in your success and the success of your business. 

• The NP and physician have a collaborative practice agreement that outlines their rights and responsibilities.

Cost

The cost of a collaborating physician can vary depending on the practice's size and patient load. Most practices in Alabama will need to budget $1050 per month for a minimum contract of one year for Dr. Lindsay's services. If you are a new practice within the first five years of business, we understand the limits of cash flow during that time especially if you have not had the right support and resources. New practices will only be charged $550/month for the first year and will be offered payment options to help them get started depending on their progress and start date. This will be discussed prior to commitment between us. If at any time, there is concern about the quality of care or your ability to provide safe services, this may be prematurely severed.
